The Joy of Wireless

The revolution of wireless internet access has finally arrived in my apartment. I can sit in my bathroom doing my business while reading the New York Times and listening to Air America on my laptop. This is going to do wonders for my productivity.

Yom Kippur

Photo: Phaedra Riley
I observed Yom Kippur by eating a pre-holiday meal at my relatives' house, going to evening services, going home eating two plates of shell pasta, and meeting some friends for a beer. In the background sits fellow Jew and Yom Kippur chow hound, Mike. The next day I ate prodigiously, went to synagogue for the last hour of services, and ate huge quantities of smoked fish with my family to break my non-existant fast. Although this was certainly an easier Yom Kippur than ones during which I have not eaten, it was less satisfying. Next year I think I'll abstain from nutrients on the Yom. Maybe. Bon Appetit!

Maybe the fake beard thing isn't such a bad idea? Here's some different looks.

Lunar Eclipse Band

Here's a shot of the Lunar Eclipse Band which rocked the talk show, "Off, Off, Off, Vegas," which I hosted at Burning Man 2004. They rocked so hard. This shot features Band Leader John Sullivan on Guitar, Maniacal Genius Loki Kevorkian on drums, Rocksteady Rhythmitist Craig Gottlieb on Bass, and a random passerby on Sax. The show was a blast (for me anyway). The show was produced by our camp, "How High the Moon," an extremely dedicated ad hoc hedonism syndicate. More details when I get some more pics.
(Thanks to the lovely and talented Kristin Terry for the photo)

Colorado Power
I'm almost back in New York from my West Coast sojourn. Right now I'm in Longmont Colorado after visiting Seattle, Portland, Central Oregon, San Francisco, and Burning Man. Today I had the great pleasure of demonstrating the PowerSuit in teacher Lyle Harlow's Heritage Middle School technology class.
Last week I demoed the suit at Phoenix High School in San Francisco.:
Here's some pics from the Middle School presentation:

Burning Hombre
I'm at Burning Man. What a hilarious, fun, grueling, good time. I have been hosting a live talk show "Off Off Off Vegas" with special guest stars Hugh Mann, the Alien American, Eustace Hardbottom, the cockney cowboy, and Marvin Brando, a distant relative of Marlon Brando. Marvin was great. Let's put it this way: He brought the butter. Also had El Steiner rap for us.
Sully and Loki kept the show tight with their musical and conversational stylings. Also got Eddie, Craig, and random passersby into the act. Will do another edition tomorrow at our camp, and then maybe at the central village tomorrow.
Lots of fun hanging with Mikey Sklar and his friends. He walked me into the ground a couple of days ago, but made up for it by fueling me w/pancakes.
Hope to perform in the PowerSuit tonight. Saw DJ Trademark peform in his Thimbletronic outfit last night.
Battery running out. Peace.
