To All the Chickenheads

A big kiss. OK, these are actually quail heads, but I love them too.

Workin It
Auditioned for a comedy event at Ripple Bar in Brooklyn, organized by Elon James White, a friendly comedian I met a little while back at Boudoir Bar . On the unfortunate side, I got there a little late, so I went late, which meant I had a smallish audience. On the fortunate side, since I had to wait a while for my turn, I saw a bunch of acts. I thought four acts were really tight. One, this fat guy from Jersey, crude as hell. Another this hot black middle class park slopey type woman with calm, cold, hilarious anger. Then their was the woman who is married to a jazz musician who hates jazz. And then this dude Blaine slew people with his friendly comic jabs to the jugular. After Blaine's set I stepped out to get a drink and this octagenarian aspiring comic in the back congratulates me on my performance. I had not yet performed. I was wearing a bright red shirt. Blaine was wearing a grey sweatshirt. Hey, I'll take the complement, even if it wasn't for me.

Okra Mandala

Who ever thought the innards of a vegetable that tastes like hairy mucus filled asparagus could be a meditation aid?

NYWearables, coming soon
Mikey Sklar and I are in the early stages of trying to secure a space for a monthly wearable technology meeting, along the lines of the Wearable Interest Group which we created at ITP. Stay tuned for further developments.

ok, i'm addicted to school
I'm taking a standup comedy class at Gotham Writers' Workshop. It's great to have a class where we discuss where in a punchline we should put "colostomy bag."

upsidedownanthem

To modify a J-Z line: It's the anthem, get your damn feet up. This is a picture of a performance I did a couple of years ago where I did a headstand with the stars and stripes fastened to my ankles while I percussively tongue clicked the Star Spangled Banner. I just kind of felt like putting it up before election time.

Mark Fiore
Mark Fiore is a guy I went to college with who does blunt, funny, political cartoons in print, and on the web as Flash animations. Mark truly does it for the people. Respect.

Critical Mammaries

This photo captures us celebrating a Burning Man tradition, the Critical Tits ride. It is like Critical Mass, with well over a thousand bicycle riders. There are two additional differences, all the riders are female, and all are baring their bare mammaries. The Lunar Eclipse Band peformed a high energy jam for half an hour as the riders rode by.

Remember to floss, Mr President
After the debate on Thursday I was channel surfing and settled on watching "Fear Factor." It's that show where people eat stuff like live maggots and worms to win money. After watching John Kerry make G. W. Bush eat his own shit on national TV, Fear Factor didn't seem like such a big deal.
