In case you can’t tell, I have a tambourine strapped to my leg as I am percussively tongue clicking Jingle Bells. Chris Hampton assisting on the mic. I also did a number where I pranced around with a butcher knife while playing Silent Night on my nose flute. If anyone has pics of that, please send them my way.

The Show: I loved it. Very gay, which I always like. Phoebe Kreutz almost made me cry with her funny but strangely moving songs. Dan Fishback was funny as hell singing a Christmas song in Yiddish and imploring the government to not only recognize gay marriage, but to create a free gay dating service. Jessica Delfino was horribly un-PC, and hilarious, Members of the Gotham Gay Mens Chorus layed down some lovely classical Christmas melodies, and the Hazzards, while hoarse throated from their previous night’s gig, rocked with Ukeleles, a drummer, and a real life harp. My fave of theirs was their cover of an 80’s hair metal tune. Thanks to Chris Hampton, Dan Rhatigan, and the other folks who put this together. And it was awesome to see former Jonathan’s Throbbing Boil frequent guest, Quin Charity, and the lovely and persistant Tali Padan in the audience, along w/Tali’s friends. Thanks for coming out and supporting Jonny Goldstein Fortnight. More pics of the show here.
The Aftershow: Had drinks with audience and performers. Got to talk to Chris a bit which was cool. She is from the town Bill Clinton really grew up in, Hot Springs, Arkansas, which has a storied history as a seedy cesspool of sin. Apparently he moved out of Hope when he was a little kid. Also crossed paths with Dennis “Dodgeball/Teendrama,” Crowley, a true multimadness mogul in the making. Met some nice WYSIWYG fans who have blogs. I tried to find their blogs later, but didn’t write ‘em down so if the Haitian woman and Alext are out there reading this, send me your URL’s so I can check ‘em out.
The After-Aftershow: Went into Crif Dogs to grab a juicy weenie and who did I see but Jessica Delfino and a couple of WYSIWYG groupies watching Pirates of the Caribbean. I vote Crif Dogs for future after parties. They have beer, dogs, and ambience. What more do you need?
Back at the Apartment: Talked to Sully who was stoked about the updated Creamsicles web site which will go live soon. We got to talking about gay-ish scenes we have been involved with over time and he told me some stories about when his 10 piece funk band used to play at the Limelight and set their instruments on fire EVERY WEEK. Must have gotten expensive.

Thanks again for being part of the show. Your musicianship is unparallelled! We’d love to have you do a story sometime — I will definitely keep you in mind for future shows. And it was awesome getting to hang out with you. I so rarely meet others who are so close to my advanced age!
