Five months from now, vloggers afrom around the world will descend on the Swedish American Hall in San Fransisco for Vloggercon 2. Although there’s money to be made in vlogging, to a huge extent, to this point, vlogging has been driven by the desire to socialize in a new way, via personal media. I now count far flung folk as friends who I have only interacted with via the vlogosphere. Vlogging allows for this kind of connection because video is so high bandwidth—-you get the body language, facial expression, as well as tone of voice. But as rich of a social experience as vlogging is, it can’t compete with face to face interaction, so vlogging often leads to pressing the flesh in meatspace. So, I’ll be there high fiving my meaty paw into the fleshy fingers of fellow vloggers. See you there?
