I was walking home yammering on the cell phone with my mom when my left foot connected with a soft meaty lump. I saw the rat scurrying away to nurse its bruised side. I just kept moving.

I think you should get some vet-optometrists up in that piece. I had a rat slam into my foot on your street, too. Nothing like nearsighted rats to ruin your day.

Yikes. That was when you were staying at my place—The same place on the same sidewalk. It’s right next to P.S. 111 where they put their garbage out at the end of the day. That spot on the sidewalk is so rat infested. Can someone at the school do something about this? Please?

Maybe it is just one very active and large yet sight-impaired rat that both of you encountered.
