Happy Year of the Cow Skull
I'm gonna be out of touch until Jan 6, visiting Mikey Sklar and Wendy Tremayne in the hotsprings mecca, Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Cow skulls seem like the predominant motif here, and I'm not complaining. May you have a healthy, happy, prosperous New Year full of many cow skulls. This is being posted from Coffee T or C, the bubbling hub of this burg's caffeinated chaos.Posted by Jonny at 12:29 PM | Comments (0)

My site is eating your comments
Don't know why, but comments people are making aren't showing up. I even tried commenting myself---no dice. Anyway, I'm workin' on it. Sorry for the pain this must be causing you.

Ryan Hodson and Jay Dedman to license videos on sustainable culture to Podtech
Two of my favorite vloggers, Ryan Hodson and Jay Dedman, just announced that they are going to be creating twice a week videos on the topic of sustainable culture (ya know, biodiesel, all that stuff) for Podtech. Here's what they've got to say about the deal (along with a few words by Michael Verdi. Their angst about getting paid to vlog is kinda sweet.

Secretary Vlog
An indie film maker friend of mine just started a secretary vlog where she puts up a daily video from her job as a grad school secretary. Good voyeuristic fun. Check it at gina, aka the graduate secretary.

Ed Tyler's Blind Spot mentioned in the Washington Post

A friend of my wife and mine , the Choreographer Ed Tyler, just had his last work, Blind Spot, reviewed in the Washington Post. Ed had bipolar disorder and in the midst of one of his many down periods ended his own life, just a few weeks ago. I'm wearing one of Ed's sweaters as I type this out. It's a stylish, colorful, comfy piece of clothing that reminds me of the guy it used to belong to, a guy who had a very full and eventful life, who we wish was still here.

Living with Geeks: Jonathan's Throbbing Boil
Jill Foster interviewed my wife and me a couple of days ago for her documentary Living With Geeks. Somehow the topic meandered to the internet radio show I used to produce and host back in the good ol' days, which was known as "Jonathan's Throbbing Boil, "or to the cognoscenti, simply "The Boil." For more detail, check out the video above.
The documentary, which explores what it's like to live with a geek for a non-geeky partner is humming along as Jill interviews such geekerati as as Robert and Maryam Scoble. I recommended she try to score some footage of my friends Mikey Sklar and Wendy Tremayne. Actually, I think my wife is as geeky as I am, but in different ways.
