Just interviewed Dan Gillmor, Bruce Sterling, David Isenberg, Steve Urquhart, Bill Allison and a bunch of other characters at Freedom to Connect, an eclectic gathering of telecom and ‘net geeks, public officials, and one astonishingly talented harmonica player. As Bruce Sterling said, the gathering was the “Mariana Trench of the Internet,” as deep as it gets. I felt like Mr. Sterling was vaguely dissatisfied with my interview of him, which bums me out, but hey, I’m glad I got to hear him riff. I’ll try to do better next time.

One of the best moments came when FCC commissioner, Jonathan Adelstein, played a harmonica duet with mouth harp meistro Howard Levy.
