Double goodness this Wednesday on Jonny’s Par-tay in this special hour long double feature. Here’s the Par-tay plan:
9-9:30 PM Eastern: Jay Dedman, media change agent, searcher, pot stirrer will talk about how (and why) to not make TV. He moved from big media (CNN) to community media (Manhattan Neighborhood Network) to participatory media in search of something that was not television. If one thing characterizes Jay, it’s dissatisfaction with the status quo. And dissatisfaction breeds change. Jay helped spearhead the videoblogging movement as one of the founders of the Yahoo Videoblogging Group, NODE 101, and Vloggercon. Jay is wondering now that we’ve got the tools to make our own media, what are we going to do with those tools? If you have par-tayed with Jay before, you know that it’s a wild ride. Join us and share your ideas of how to not make TV.
9:35-10:05 PM Eastern: Kathryn Velvel Jones, Producer of the live scripted plot-driven drama web video series “35,” for Synchronis.tv, which will debut Sept 19. The production involves multicamera live shoots streaming in real time to the web. She will talk about the why and the how of this ambitious approach to media making. Kathryn is a seasoned performer and producer of both theater and electronic media. We presented a session on making compelling live video content at Podcamp Philly this weekend and I was impressed with her drive, energy, and general awesomeness. Join us to find out more about the tech and art of her new project, “35“.

The whole videoblogger thing is akin to ham radio airwaves in the 70s. Please use your site for more productive things in the future. We really love your stuff normally.
