So three days after my announcing my intentions to go pro on the talkshow thing, I still feel good. Got a lot of love on that post, which makes me feel great. Thanks folks.
Now just need to keep focused on making it happen. To that end, I visited my friend Carl Weaver to find out how to build an uber pro backdrop for my show.
He built an ingenious portable backdrop frame out of PVC pipe. It’s going to be a little project to make it, but it looks very doable. I’ll post pics once I make it.
Also, I made a fun little promo for this weeks edition of Jonny’s Par-tay, featuring Drew Olanoff and Bill Cammack. You can see it below. How did I make it? First, I got the music track from my partner in crime, John Sully, guitarist and singer for NYC’s purveyors of sweet and delicious rock and roll, The Creamsicles.
Next I needed visuals: I got the photos from Bill and Drew from their Flickr accounts—figured they would not mind. The pics of me are from a photoshoot I did with Carl Weaver several months ago.The TV monitor titles are are LiveFonts from the video titling tool LiveType. Then the funky hand drawn “Jonny’s Par-tay” segment I drew by hand with a wacom tablet, frame by frame.
Finally I spent some social time this weekend. Went to an Autumn Moon Festival barbecue with a bunch of Chinese grad students and picked apples and figs at a friend of my wifes. Part of keeping things balanced. Nothing more grounding than picking fruit.

Hi,
ever wondered how to get better Amazon deals or how to get that 30-day refund from Amazon?
We discovered a gret service ( http://www.apnoti.com ) which tracks prices for you and alerts you.
Check out our latest review at:

Just discovered a complete list of all marked down products at Amazon, sorted by category
and % off, ranging from 50% off to 90% off (thanks Sonja for the effort).
Actually I never thought Amazon would have articles with 90% off, but only in the category
Electronics there are more than 3000 of them - look for yourself, the list is on
Bargain Hunter (which is a blog of a woman who specializes in finding good deals at
Amazon, like Britain’s “Jeanie”).
