Click above to watch the archive of the Par-tay chatter with Dina Kaplan, Chief Operating Officer of blip.tv. One of the things blip.tv does is pitch popular shows to advertisers, either in a package with other shows, or if they are in the 50,000 per month viewership range, by themselves. Lot’s of great questions from all the par-tay guests getting into the nitty gritty of what it takes to get shown the money—be it through product placement, a branded sponsor, pre and post roll ads, overlays. We also touch on the relationship between sponsorship and creative freedom and a bunch of other great stuff. I’d love to get Dina on again. People were hungry for more.

Good show! Informative and entertaining, what more can you ask for?
I agree with her general point, about being aware of what image you are presenting to your sponsors. The important thing I would take away from her message is to be consistent. That your sponsors (and even your viewers), whether they are of the edgy type or not, knows what to expect from you. This is important for any relationship. If you want to sell yourself as unpredictable, then you need to be consistently unpredictable. Hey, it’s a big world, there must be some sponsors who are into that.
BTW, you ask good questions. Keep it up!
