Podcamp Boston 2: Biz Card Brain Dump Part 1

October 30th, 2007 · 7 Comments

Podcamp Boston 2 was a rich learning, professional, and social shindig for me. I met and reconnected with tons of people. Here are some notes on folks as I go through the stack of biz cards I got. This is just the first installment. More to come!

Tal Chalozin is a member of the Israeli technology collective, Garage Geeks, the technology artists behind such projects as the Guitar Heronoid, an android which plays the game Guitar Hero way better than I can. Very talented and smart guy.

Laura Athavale Fitton, known on Twitter as “Pistachio.” My kind of nut. Laura helps people give better presentations. She also is a lot of fun to hang out with in the hallway.

Jonathan Bloom. This 17 year-old drove all the way out from Ohio. He was brave enough to step up and be interviewed live by me during my talkshow demo, and came away hungry for more. A star is born.

Nicolas Butler, AKA Loudmouthman. Nick educated me on the finer points of kilts and sporrens. While Nicolas can live up to his sobriquet with gusto, he also enjoys a good conversation. It was fun to meet him in person.

Beth Kanter.
Always fun to reconnect with Beth, a consultant who helps non-profits figure out how to make the social web work for them. Thanks for the five bucks! I owe you a drink!

Susan Kaup, AKA Sooz. So much of my Podcamp took place in the hallways. Sooz was one of the reasons. I dug the rocked out streaming internet radio station she runs Exploit Boston Radio. Sooz was one the many volunteers who helped make this event happen.

Travell Perkins is one of the folks behind Eco Egg, a “Consolidated source for environmentally focused news, information, and entertainment.” I took a peek, and there’s lots of good stuff over there.

Kfir Pravda, another fun-to-chat-with-in-the-hallways guy. Kfir is an Israeli marketing and bizdev consultant. I was totally bummed out to miss his presentation.
