We’ve been running on fumes and instinct so far and done alright despite few fender benders–but now it’s time to fuel up with some high octane PR and Marketing gasoline and burn some rubber down that information autobahn. That’s why we’ve invited Rana Sobhany to kick our tires and tell us how to turbocharge the Par-tay Global Media machine into a formula one contender.

Rana Sobhany is the Marketing Communications Manager at WashingtonVC, a private equity fund that incubates early stage companies. Specializing in creative brand building and image development for start-up technology companies, Rana has experience in crafting integrated marketing campaigns and marketing communications and public relations programs in order to create and maintain solid brand identities. Rana is expert at leveraging social media to produce highly successful grassroots initiatives and guerrilla marketing campaigns.

We are going to pick her brain about how bring the Par-tay into the neurons of discriminating fun lovers around the globe. And naturally, she will be delighted to give advice on how to strengthen and extend your reach with PR and Marketing tips tailored to your project.

While we’re at it, we’ll find out exactly what Rana does and why she does it. As always, you are key to the show—Shoot each other, Rana, Scott, and Jonny your questions and comments

    Great par-tay!

I disagree on the issue of the book “The New PR” I didn’t think it was specific enough to have much quality content, especially given that sooo many other books are out right now.

    Hey Nathan,

    Thanks for the comment.

I guess different people have different gaps in their knowledge. I liked the quick flyover that the book provided, and I appreciate his old school PR and communications perspective, informed by the new realities.

What are some books you like?

    Amazing show, dude! :D

Blogtv certainly has the edge over Operator11 for that embedded chat function in the archive. When you have on-location guests, that’s definitely the move for now.

That was crazy. That show could have gone ANOTHER 30 minutes! :O

Thanks for the feedback Bill. Yeah, we definitely tapped into something with this show last night. Rana is a bundle of energy and expertise.

[...] Last night, as many of you fellow DC’ers did, I was watching Jonny’s Par-tay with Jonny Goldstein.  It was first time watching the show.  I was turned onto it by @scottstead and I must say, I loved it.  Jonny had on as a guest the talented marketing maven Rana June of WashingtonVC.  If you did not get to see it, here is the link to the show.  Go check it out. I would just like to let you know that the person you interviewed provided many factual inaccuracies. The client that she claims she got on several MTV shows already had their contacts months before she became their manager; this client was already on those shows before they met her.

That actual success rate claimed in the interview is GREATLY exaggerated.

[...] When I interviewed PR maven Rana Sobhany a couple of weeks ago, she emphasized that the Jonny’s Par-tay community is the greatest resource of the show. Boy is she right. Over the last week, fans of the Par-tay did some amazing stuff to support the show. Check out Jeff Hibbard’s video promo: [...]

[...] JG: I’d say it was Rana Sobhany. I think her segment was popular for four major reasons: three great, and one kind of not-so-great. [...]
