There are a lot of not for profit organizations in DC that don’t do much.
Then there is the organization where I work. We get busy. We promote policies and practices that encourage economic opportunity to people from ALL communities. We also directly help people who are in danger of losing their homes due to predatory loans they received, and assist minority owned business to move to the next level.
So what do I do? I help my colleagues at the National Community Reinvestment Coalition influence the debate and support its member organizations (over 600 all across the USA) through the web and new media.
Here’s a quick interview I did with one of our community organizers, Lita Dunn Grossman, about what she’s working on at the moment. Lita is smart and passionate. I appreciate her hanging in there with me when I announced I was going to record an interview with her from my phone and put it online. Here it is:
