I am a big fan of Utterz. Never heard of Utterz? Here’s the official blurb:

Utterz is the first way you can instantly blog your experiences, thoughts and ideas, anywhere, using all the capabilities of your mobile phone. Utterz mashes together the voice, video, pictures, and text you call or send in and creates an ‘Utter’ that can immediately update your existing web pages on sites like Blogger, Facebook, LiveJournal, MySpace and more.

Since I have the most primitive cell phone East of the Mississippi, I mostly use it to post audio to various outposts of my online empire.

I can’t tell you how therapeutic it is to walk home after a hard day at the cubicle and spew my thoughts into my phone and know that people will listen to them on the web. It just makes me feel good somehow.

Here are a few ideas for contests Utterz could run:

Hip Hop battle. Could Utterz team up with some hip hop magazine or label or something and do a rap battle on Utterz? I would totally listen to that.

Beat Boxing.

Haiku contest.

Utterz Idol: Like American Idol, but on Utterz.

Guest Utterers: Invite some high profile people to utter for a day—How about Barak Obama? OK, maybe he’s too busy, but hey, give it a try! Or maybe someone who is doing something dramatically difficult—running a marathon, rock climbing a sheer cliff…Or how about a professional storyteller giving tips on how to tell a compelling story?

Anyway, just a few ideas. Some might be easy to implement, some not so easy.
