Live: Sitting in the audience at live broadcast of NPR’s Talk of the Nation. Bill Kristol, AnnaMarie Cox, Clarence Page, Jerry Seib opining about press coverage of the U.S. presidential campaign. Bill Kristol actually sounding quite coherent. I’m up to answer a question next and I’m a little nervous….
Update: I got to ask a question on-air. My question: What are the roots of the armed forces shame about addressing mental health problems among combat soldiers? Listen to the response of Dana Priest and Anne Hull, the Washington Post reporters who just received the Pullitzer Prize for their stories on the treatment of wounded soldiers at Walter Reed Hospital, by clicking here. It’s 13:20 into the clip.
Naturally, I gave jonnygoldstein.com an on air shout out!
I came mostly to do R&D for Jonny’s Par-tay. Neal Conan, the host, did a Q&A after the broadcast. He said they have 10 people working full time on the show. They had some technical problems, and it was great to see how they adapted and still made the show work. Glad I went. Thanks to Andy Carvin for the invite. The Newseum looks pretty cool too. I saw a quote by Madonna, which says it all “Freedom of speech is better than sex.”
