NOTE: The Par-tay airs live on TUESDAY this week.
Phil Shapiro is a teacher, media maker, prankster and an innovator. He’s musician, storyteller, and open source fanatic. He even created a new job title for himself: public geek. Phil knows more about YouTube than anyone we have met. Phil has worked in the fields of education and community technology since the late 80’s. Currently as an adjunct professor at American University he teaches teachers how to use technology in their classrooms, as Public Geek at the Takoma Park Library he teaches kids how to produce video, and as a blogger at PCWorld he directs barbs at bloated monstrosities like Comcast in posts like the now famous (2284 Diggs so far) “You’re Switching My Apartment to Comcast? I’m Moving Out” post.
If you care about creativity, bridging the digital divide, technology and kids, and how technology fits into community development, this is the Par-tay for you. And maybe we can even get Phil to perform his song about Greasemonkey!
Come Par-tay with Phil Shapiro this Tuesday on Jonny’s Par-tay!
